Hi There!

I was after some recommendations on who you guys/girls have used to recover data from failed laptop hard disks etc? Also server drives (arrays) etc.

After a few reviews related to speed, cost, accuracy, service etc?

We have used computer forensics in the past, but they seem so expensive.

Not had to use data recovery myself ... a good backup setup is far cheaper! :-)

Depending on how screwed the disk is, you may want to give SpinRite a go.

The website might look a little 90's, but I can assure you the programme is well worth the price... especially with the US exchange rate at the moment.

Disk is dead, I think it's the electronics.

Also whilst not included in the original topic, but since the same thread readers might know the answer:

Anyone used a wipe tool on a modern HDD, and then sent it to the data recovery people and what was the result?
