Potentially, I don't know how big the cache is at Snap though. I doubt it will be big enough to house all that content. Will have to find out how / where connections fetch to for the data.

Google docs/drive/gmail doesn't come through a Google cache server, what your thinking about is a Google node server which at present doesn't existing NZ. There are people in NZ at the moment spending a lot of time communicating with Google to get a Google Node server set up within NZ but Google have very tough restrictions on where, how a node server is housed. And for everyone else, I currently use around 30GB of Google docs storage, all of which got re-uploaded a few months ago due to a server error, and Snap classed it as free Google traffic.

I thought that might be the case, I'm pretty sure the cache at Snap will only be 1-2TB at most as it's only meant to house primarily youtube and I believe maps etc.

From what I've seen though they are MUCH larger than that, and are sized based on traffic levels.

Chances are that most providors have no idea what specs the servers are because as stated in another thread the cache is run by google so i doubt they know much.

They deliver boxes to wherever you're hosting the equipment, The specs are plastered all over the delivery note and the box, and of course you can take the hard drives out and see just how much capacity they have each, pop the lid and see what bits they have inside if you wish. Then when you boot them and configure them for first time it configures the disks so it's no secret at all really :) They aren't cheap boxes, they use a well known brand name and model which is towards the upper end of the product line.
