Just signed up for a naked broadband plan and discovered that Snap don't offer imap email.

Anyone tried to convince Snap to add imap? Any interest from others?

I use multiple devices and move around and imap is the logical solution. Yes, I know I can leave messages on the server but it's not the same.

I had a similar issue where they couldn't support it but I could annoyed with having to delete emails across multiple platforms. 

I ended up getting a domain and MXing it to Google and using it through gmail.

It has better redundancy, backups and space anyway.

First obvious question - why are you relying on an ISP email address?

There are many vastly superior low cost options when you have your own domain name, including the ability to keep your email address no matter who your ISP is.

Yes!

Thanks for the quick responses.

Just been doing that! But you get used to doing things one way!

Sorted out a friendly domain name that should last me until I shuffle off this mortal coil.

Looks like Google and I will get to know each other.

It a bit like going the long way round but at least it should be a long-term solution that gives the flexibility to choose ISPs.

using ISP email is probably the worst idea for an email solution. May I ask why you are wanting to use an ISP based email addresss?

OK, sorted now. Everything appears to be working.

New long-term email address pushed to Gmail and then on to email client.

Free from ISPs now!
