Just did one which is pretty much peak time 7:30Pm to Internode Sydney on my VDSL 38 down and 8.6 up or pretty much maxing my connection.

I think there is some restriction on the international bandwidth that is on the UFB connections because they shouldn't be slower than VDSL.

A bit of a bump for this thread, but I still haven't heard from Snap.

Currently downloading Nod32 installer at 50KB/sec, woooo! Remotely connected to my work connection with Telecom, 1.8MB/sec . At this rate it would be quicker to download from my work connection and then hosted it for me to download back home o_O. Yes, I see the benefit of UFB now!

I know I'm being a bit cheeky, but you can you blame me?

I would be curious to know if you VPN'ed to the USA and did downloads if your speed was better than

Just weighing in with my Speedtest results.

I have the 100/50. I have aslo done a packet transfer with Snap which has given similar results. They tell me that they know that it is an issue and they are working on it. In all honesty it is a little bit faster than my old ADSL but I do want to see something closer to the speeds I am paying for. I'm one of 3 people in my town with fibre.
 Hopefully their techs will work it out soon and we can all have a fun party with silly hats.

I guess all these results just show how important it is to have content hosted locally.

Of course that's not taking away from the few slow local tests observed.

Not really. I got a phone call from Snap (1st time!). It was more of a courtesy call to say that someone in Snap is looking into it.

I'm still cringing on how much faster ADSL2+ can download internationally. Ridiculous really. I'm sort of over it, until I have to get a large file down again.

We're mainly talking about speeds to the US.

To be honest those national speeds are pretty lacklustre too, especially since VDSL customers can exceed them.
Hopefully they find what is wrong and fix it soon.
