Hi All,

I started the churn process to Snap VDSL from Slingshot ADSL on Monday and was wondering what kind of updates I should expect from Snap RE: my signup.

So far I've had no status updates other than the first email to confirm I had signed up. That email mentioned I would be given an update with in 24-48 hours which has past and nothing to confirm anything is even progressing.

My concern at this point is I signed up knowing there was 10 business days between that date and my end of month roll over with slingshot and would prefer not to have to battle thru another month of Slingshot's worsening service.

I plan to call after later today but thought I'd hit up here first in case my situation is the normal thing and not to worry.

Also I mentioned in the comments during signup that if there were no VDSL ports to contact me asap so I would move to ADSL with Snap instead.

Thanks

Mat

Definitely phone - when I signed up they were incredibly helpful and accommodating when I rang them. I'm sure they'll be able to help you out. And they always seem to answer calls really quick, bonus!

Delay on Fritzbox' is the problem. They called me before I had a chance to call them. So found out as soon as I receive the router. Hopefully by next Wednesday. The request will be submitted at that point.

I also found out the port I am on does both ADSL and VDSL so should just be a software/profile change. It will be cutting it fine(new month roll over is 23rd) but if a tech doesn't need to visit the cabinet the change you'd think would be fairly quick. or I hope it is anyway.

I'm not even a customer of Snap yet and loving the support. I have not had a good geek to geek chat with an ISP rep since Internode in Australia.

Churn from Slingshot to Snap Complete. 35mins downtime all up.

First impressions of Snap after 7 hours of trying it out during peak times. Amazing. Massive improvement of national and international speeds compared to Slingshot. On Slingshot from 5pm-11pm I'd average 300-500KB/s and sites like YouTube were unusable. Tonight on Snap I was getting 2600KB/s from Europe. So far so good.

In the last 10 days I have called Snap 5-6 times and I have been called twice with updates. Not once did it take more than a min to speak to a real person from the point of dialing. Comparing this to Slingshot where 15-30min waits were the normal no matter what time of the day you called.

And lastly the Fritz!box 7390. What a bloody brilliant device this thing is. I am still amazed at what it can do. It really does put everything else to shame for the home or small business setup.
