Tracert to 12.129.254.216 is worse currently sitting 16 hops / ~230ms

However 12.129.254.216 is not a league of legends server it is a RIOT server for W.O.W.

@SNAP These are the server address ranges for league of legends that need to be improved (if possible)

216.133.234.0/24

192.64.168.0/24

192.64.169.0/24

192.64.170.0/24

64.7.194.0/24

66.150.148.0/24

Complete list is here - https://support.leagueoflegends.com/attachments/token/l8gztqrh95gsmhk/?name=NA+Complete+Ranges.xlsx

well feel free to use it if you want.  there's still a small amount of ping spikes on pingplotter, but not the loss or even as much jitter.

it's actually routing over telstraglobal route, which seems to have less issues than those cogent routes.

i'd say those cogent routes coming in were all bad, but maximum speeds actually went up in general, just more jitter, problems, etc.

It's more the packet loss that's annoying, I wouldn't mind playing on 200 ms, but the fact that its bouncing from 160-500. Looking over the winmtr all the packet loss is happening after it leaves LAX. Heres some more tracerts

Just had two games - the first was a solid 140ms all the way through, then the second one was bouncing from 200ms-500ms.

somehow battle.net issues got dragged into here too, and appears to be a cogent issue existing since the 11th of January US time.  (so probably 12th here)

there's  a 46 page thread on wow forums.  and vpn'ing can get around it.

seems to be that you can use proxifier and putty, and use a los angeles shell to get smooth responses (as long as they don't use cogent), san jose is probably fine too.  you can also use a vpn but then all of your traffic gets vpn'ed, unless you disable default route, and add a route for battle.net servers, which it seems you can't automatically do easily, whereas with proxifier it can just forward a specific application.

one caveat is that when using a US IP your account will get blocked, and you have to change your password.  but apparently even using a different ISP for one game can do this. (Blizzard really don't like lans do they?)

The in game reported ping sits at 160 with very little variation (improved over 170-190)
