When I do a speedtest on speedtest.net it shows my ISP as being 'Dynamic Ranges' instead of Snap, I was just wondering is this normal? As I've seen other peoples test results and they say the ISP is Snap?

Probably nothing, but just thought I'd ask.

About two years ago, I was with an ISP called Supra. They bought some of their bandwidth from Snap, and I used to see a message like you mentioned.

Now I am with another wireless ISP who buy all their bandwidth from Snap AFAIK. When I do a speedtest, it simply says Snap.

So, I guess it depends on exactly how your ISP has their network setup.

Yeah I don't have a static IP, Is that the cause? Guess it makes sense if it is.

From http://www.speedtest.net/qna.php:

Why have you incorrectly identified my Internet provider, and how can I get it fixed?
We also use MaxMind's data to identify your Internet service provider. Like locations, this is not always accurate. If it is incorrect, then hopefully it will be fixed in the next month or two. You can see who they think your ISP is here. If you work at the ISP and are the owner of the netblock, then you can email MaxMind the corrected details.

Ah so it's just an error with speedtest.net because MaxMind has the wrong data, no problems then I guess, Maybe it'll resolve itself in a month or so like that says.

Thanks for that. Laughing

As you discussed, you're on one of our new dynamic blocks of IPs (111.69.x.x) - this will sort its self out after a while.

Grant_k, Snap has never had anything to do with Supra - I'm not sure why that would have happened.

But you do with NetSpeed?

They are my current Wireless ISP, but Speedtest reports my ISP as Snap.
