Have you tried restarting your modem? Just double checking...

Our connection is still working but had to change to Xtra's DNS servers, can't access Snap's Web/DNS/Mail servers at present.

I've seen other reports of affected people on Twitter as well. Same story, something DNS-related...

they'll be well aware of it, best to let them get on with fixing it rather than tying up the phone lines.

fyi, I had the same issues, had to change to xtra's dns servers.. I tried calling in but the call couldnt be connected.. No disconnect tone, no busy tone.. the call would "click" like it got to the right number, then sat idle

My service was down for a few seconds, back up, and repeated this for around 10 minutes, then went dead shortly after 3.30pm. Connection was back up without DNS service shortly after 6pm. My connection was also getting 25% packet loss. Everything was back to normal by 6.30pm.

I called Snap and they said there had been a problem at the Christchurch exchange and that some users were affected more than others.
