Hi all, I'm looking at testing out a USRP, with a RFX900 on the 900Mhz frequency.

I'm just wondering, where & how do I check whether I need to have a license & how much they cost for a temporary testing one for say a month?

If anybody could help me out here, that would be great, and before you think of asking me what i'll use them for, i'll tell you simply, it's for short distance mobile comms. links.

Help!!

There is a GURL freq in the 900s and one in the 800s you should be able to use - details are on the MED site about restrictions on use and power on those bands.

It is also worth noting that unless you have an Amateur Radio licence the equipment used with a GURL needs to be approved as well. See how to comply on rsm.govt.nz
