I've done a bit of searching around on the internet, but I can't seem to find anything about the release date for the ICS update in NZ? The Americans seem to be getting it though. I'm not too fussed, but it would be nice to have it :)

Does anyone know if it's scheduled for NZ?

Hi, please excuse me if this is not the right place to post but seems the best to me.

I was thinking of picking up a galaxy tab 10.1 32gb wifi/3g while noel leemings have 20% off samsung for $695.

Can you guys give me your opinion on whether its a good machine at that price, I love android so far (waiting for blue S3 to arrive) and have used it for years, am looking to replace laptop/netbooks with a tablet as on only really surf on them anyway.

With samsung intending to support ICS on it then seems like a good plan to me!

Any thoughts appreciated.

I have a galaxy tab 10.1 and would like to upgrade it in the hope of getting some snappier performance. Its a work one that I am not allowed to root.  Is there an Odin option like I did on my S2 phone using a polish version of ICS (in english) before ICS was released locally?  Thanks for any help/ideas.....

Could you install that without rooting? Seems unlikely

Are you sure any version (p7500 or p7510) of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 has ICS?

I don't think even the American one has it...

The only way to get it is to install a custom ROM such as Cyanogenmod 9. As of now, even CM9 does not have the camera working though.

Sorry I thought you meant a custom polish Rom, my bad, as far as I've seen there are no official Samsung rooms for Ics galaxy tab (1) out anywhere

Looks like they are updating...

and there does not appear to be a country restriction assuming those models were the ones released here.

Thanks for that update from slashgear. That is the most definitive thing I have seen so far.

Call me cynical, but all these Android sites have a big interest in posting 'leaked' information from an 'insider' in order to drive traffic. Without a direct link to a Samsung source a little salt is required.

The only reason I bought the Galaxy tab was because it had 3G. I have to say.. if Asus were offering 3G on their tablets, I'd have jumped at their one first

Might grab an 8.9 Tab as they're only $499 at DSE. Hopefully ICS does actually appear for these Smile

Here's an update! Only in Australia by the looks of it. Hopefully we're not too far behind...
