I'm not talking about the normal mobile version, I clicked view full website and everything looks normal except there's no side panels with ads.seems to fit perfectly (I'm sure Google chrome resizes it to fit but it just seems perfect)

First impressions:

Very decent device. While setting up the device I through everything at it (surfing, installing, downloading, copying, playing 3D games all at the same time and it didnt care.

Jelly Beans is really nice, more streamlined and so smooooth (;

Build quality is good, but could be better, there is quite a bit of flex horizontal and I can hear a cracking sound while twisting gently.

There is still a lot of work to do for the devs to make apps more tablet friendly. A lot of the premium games dont even offer support yet. And they are one of the main reasons I got the tablet for...

Screen is good, nice resolution and viewing angels, but doesnt get very bright. The automatic brightness is very conservative and I propably need custom ROMs to be able to adjust that. Wonder what the readability in the sun is like.

All the play store goodies are not available. No movies, mp3s, books. You cant even download Google Books, so you need a 3. party e-reader for now. It does come with google play music though, and you can upload stream your own music.

The power button is quite close to the volume keys and I already accidently switched off the screen several times while trying to adjust the volume.

From the 16GB are only 13GB available, after downloading some games and apps only 11GB left. Should be enough for ebooks, pics and some mp3s, but I doubt I get many movies on it. This is ok while at home on the couch where you can stream, but not while traveling.

The best thing is the price for this tablet, it makes up for the little issues I found. I had a play with quite a few 7" tablets you cant get such a screen and power on such a cheap tablet.

This being a google device means instant updates! I already got one OTA update for Jelly Bean.

Over all I am very happy about my new toy (;

So first impressions so far...

I like the look and feel of it although why the power button and volume button are so close together is beyond me and a bit of a pain.

It is very responsive between screens and when opening apps and the GPS is lightening fast.  I opened GPS Status when lying on the couch last night and the GPS locked onto to 9/11 satellites in less than 1 second - and I was inside!

I like Google Currents which takes your news feeds and stylises them into a magazine format.  I am not sure at this stage if I will use an RSS reader as well or even need to.

There is no $25 Google Play store credit that I can see, I even tried to buy an app last night to see if the credit was an option to pay, but no dice.  Likewise there is no Transformer movie or magazines so I assume the credit is tied up with Google offering movies and magazines etc which we cannot access here yet.

Coming from HTC Sense I have noticed that it not as "polished" in parts, there seem to be less widget options for example.  On the other hand that means I can experiment a bit more.  Anyone got a recommendation for a launcher?

Wifi coverage doesn't seem to be quite as good as my HTC Desire phone on a non-scientific "number of bars on the indicator" basis but I will put wifi analyser on it over the weekend and compare.

I also got quite frustrated trying to figure out why nothing would go into landscape mode, until I found it was not turned on in the settings (look under accessibility).

Storage wise I have downloaded half a dozen or so smallish apps so far and I have 13gb free space.

Its early days but so far I am pretty happy with it although the $25 credit would have been nice.  Has anyone got it?

EDIT: Typos

Picked mine up yesterday after a message was left on my answerphone. Synchronised it with this A200 tab, then it went into software update, from Jellybean 4.1 to 4.1.1.
Quite happy with it so far, just organising a Seagate Sattelite (wireless) storeage HDD.

Mine has finally left the proxy company in the USA. Total cost including domestic+international shipping is NZ$330 for the 8Gb model. Not exactly a huge saving but better than nothing. Should be low enough that poxy customs don't want their slice. ETA is next Thursday. We shall see.

"You are" = "You're" - Not "Your".  "They are" = "They're" - Not "Their" or "There".  You probably mean "lose" not "loose".  There's no such word as "Alot".

I'm now the proud owner of a Nexus 7 Tablet.

I thought I would tell you about my purchase experience from Harvey Norman.

I had a gift voucher from Harvey Norman so was always going to get it from there.

Last time I looked at their website it was still on preorder.

I had to go into Harvey Norman today to print some photos so thought I'd ask them about it.  They only had 3 tablets on display and no sign of the nexus.

I asked a guy (i'm sure he is one of the technology managers) whether they could get me one and they said they didn't stock it but might be able to order me one. He asked if I had seen one before and If I was sure about it.  I think he didn't want to order one for me to turn round and say no once I saw it.  He didn't sound very interested in my purchase at all so I got my photos and left.  Looking back on it I'm not even sure if he even knew what it was.

I jumped online at home and noticed on the HN site that the product had changed to an order Item from pre-order.  Its also got a message that this product isn't available at every store.  I added one to the cart and there was an option to pick up from the store with no freight charge.  I thought this was good but hang on, no way to use my voucher.

I printed out the product details and headed back to the store to actually order one.

The previous sales person wasn't there but I came across a guy I studied with 10yrs ago. I asked him if he could get me one.

He jumped on the computer and it showed it they had two in stock. This was a surprise.

He went out the back and and came back with one. Excellent!

I mentioned about my earlier visit that morning and he thought they had only come in today.  It would have been nice if the first sales person actually looked in the system.

Oh well, I've got it now. Just starting to play with it, liking it so far.

It's my first tablet, and I'm very happy with it. It suits me as a media consumption device, and with Aldiko and Kindle, I don't miss the rest of the Google Play store too much. I was a bit disappointed to miss out on the Warehouse MediaPad special, but the Nexus 7 is a very nice toy, and meets my needs fine.

Ok I just managed to get the $25 Play Store credit, on my Nexus 7 from NL.

Heres how to do it:

You need a credit card in Google wallet, with a US address. I just used my kiwibank visa debit card with a fake US address (added this through the google wallet website).

I then did a factory reset on the tablet, and when it asked me to connect to wifi, I connected to my home wifi, and set a US proxy ,found from here: http://spys.ru/en/ I tried a few but the one that seemed to work had HIA under the Anonymity* column.

I then clicked through the wizard and had a new page saying I got $25 credit. Also using the US proxy means you will get the Play Books, Magazines and Movies app on the tablet (although once you turn off the proxy those won't work anymore).

Also, I think it may be possible to get it without doing a factory reset. In one of my attempts I had done a factory reset, but hadn't had the US address credit card added. I noticed when I went to the play store and attempted to purchase something, under the payment options there was a new option that said "Add a credit card to get $25". I tried to add some fake credit cards at that step, but they wouldn't work. I'm not sure if that option will show up once you are connected to a US proxy or not.
