It's seems that the "future owners" series is very good idea to share information, pricing, deals and rumours about a product.

So here I am a fan of the Nexus 7 but I want more screen and I know the price I have to pay for that (backpack and less battery life in theory)

Based on the information I have got, oh wait let me rephrase this Smile

It has came to my attention that (feeew, that's better) Google is working on getting the Nexus 10" tables out in the market. Sold, you had me at Nexus.

Here are some related topics around the subject:

Rumor: Google releasing 10″ Android tablet this fall
Google Working On 10 Inch Nexus 10 Tablet (Rumor)
Report: Google also working on a 10 inch Nexus - Notice how it goes from "Rumor" to "Report". It's coming...
Reports point to Google Nexus 10 in the works

Ok, a good question pops in my head, is it gonna be Nexus 10 or Galaxy Note 10???

Asmodeus: - Load your shipitto/youshop address into google wallet as your billing address (NZ credit card fine)
- Sign up for free 1 week trial of Unblockus (if you don't already have something similar in place)
- Order Google Nexus 10 :)

16GB model (US$399) ships in 3 days, 32GB model (US$499) ships in 1-2 weeks

While I'm not a fan of paying us$100 for 16GB of extra storage, thems the breaks and I'm gonna get the 32Gb one.

US shipping (to your Youshop address) is $13.99

Been watching some comparison and benchmarking videos and this tablet basically kicks the a$$ of everything else similar out there. Some of the win8 tablets and the latest ipad are definitely comparable, and may suit some people's wants or needs better, but in terms of Android tablets, this looks like the way to go.

Ordering through Google Play lands you the 32GB one for the same price as you can get the 16GB one from Mobicity here in NZ so apart from the shipping delay, it's a no-brainer really.

However, does anyone know how you deal with returns/faults if you order this way to a country you weren't supposed to?

Sadly you will definitely pay custom tax due to that price.. :/

That's dependent on it being noticed by Customs right? What are the chances of avoiding this?

If you are using the Youshop service you will need to declare the price and shipping cost yourself. This is the criteria in which any shipment gets taxed/duty.

As a general rule, anything that is (Price + shipping + insurance + duty) > 399 NZD will be held for you to pay the tax/duty.

This item will be $0 duty then you will taxed GST 15% + $30 something fees.

The only way to avoid this is by providing a false declaration of under $290 USD (for duty free items) or something (inclusive). Which is an illegal activity and an offence that you will be held responsible for even if you didn't declare it yourself. Despite that fact, it happens all the time.

I remember once I ordered diving gear from the US (40% of the NZ price) and in order to save about $400 of tax and duty I have asked the seller to divide the items into less than $230 USD each (duty is 5%). The guy said OK. I was shocked to find a massive box of diving gear with everything in it, but with a receipt on top of it with a total of $230 USD (incl) Surprised of course if they found out this isn't true, I will be the one held responsible, but I think I got lucky and I sent the seller an angry email.

The legal (right) way to do is to ship it to a friend in the USA, get them to open the box and test the tablet, play a little with it, ship it back to you as used (which is true) with much less price. Like a trademe auction, the price can go as low as $1 as long as both parties are happy with the deal. Don't forget that the amount you declare is the amount you get paid if the item gets lost in the mail though.
