I would order it from www.einfo.co.nz

At least they have obligation under CGA and their price includes GST.

I want to get it on contract, so far no listings anywhere, looking at Vodafone I think.

We're bound to be one of the 128 countries to get it on our carriers by the end of the month.

I'm hoping at least. Is supposed to be my Christmas present this year! Missus approved!

Anyone heard anything of a release date?

In stock right now.

For various values of "In stock". Sounds like that stock doesn't include NZ. Shipping from Hong Kong apparently.

"You are" = "You're" - Not "Your".  "They are" = "They're" - Not "Their" or "There".  You probably mean "lose" not "loose".  There's no such word as "Alot".

Correct, Mobicity shipping the Note 2 out of Hong Kong at the moment (he says, waiting for his Titanium Grey Note 2 to arrive this week).

I am going to upgrade to the Note 2 as well. While the original Note has been great, having a narrower body on the Note 2 is a plus, as well as the 2GB of RAM.

Lots of advantages - RAM, GPU, Exynos quad core, better camera software, much improved S-Pen (ergonimics and function), Wolfson DAC, narrower body with widescreen AR screen with better display characterisitcs, larger battery, better battery life (fairly significantly so by the looks of it), better USB OTG support (I presume, providing its the same as the S3), much better loudspeaker according to reviews so far, BT 4.0 with Apt-X, exFAT support...

When it is available locally, the prices from parallel imported stores will drop like lead. That's when I am going to pounce!

Prices are now at around the mid-$900 mark for parallel imported phones. While this is a wonderful phone and something I would want to have eventually, it's never going to be as popular as the S3. So I am betting that it won't take long for the price to fall under $900.

By Christmas, it is likely to be down to the low $800s. Bring it on!

I wouldn't count on its price falling too fast, last year's Note held its value for quite some time. While it won't be as popular as the S3, Samsung are using price as a brand-image tool with the Note handsets in setting premium pricing.

This initial fall is to be expected, they've just milked early adopters a bit :)

Worth holding out for the LTE version? It looks like it's a superset device, n7100 with LTE support added and no obvious sacrifices.
