blair003: No - is that a requirement now?
(or was it always a requirement?)

It was always a requirement.  Most people are using an Air NZ OneSmart card, for instance.

This isn't 100% true, I did get that error a lot, but after 50+ tries it went through, so I am not sure that it is the credit card which is the problem, it may just be Google's system being mucked up.

Interesting! why would this work? it says at the bottom of the card "issued by the bank of New Zealand". Did you use US currency loaded on the card?

It works when you have US currency loaded on the card - presumably it's a feature to improve the acceptance of the card at foreign merchants (I've had my NZ VISA and Mastercard credit cards declined on occasion due to issues with the foreign merchant's bank).

It's an undocumented 'feature' as far as I'm aware.

SlingshotR6: What's the story with power cables for phones purchased in USA?  Assume they'd have the US plug configuration and be 110V??

I have a US Amazon microUSB charger, and it is 110-240v so you should be alright. Even if it is 110v, any other microUSB cellphone  charger (except iPhones) should work.

At least you guys have phones coming...sheesh...I'm using a stinky old iphone 3G that a mate had lying around while I wait to first, order and then receive the N4. This 3G iphone is slower than an old goat and won't install any programmes off of iTunes coz the software is too old. Feck it...I'm so bored!

Ha :-)

To keep you enthused know that Jellybean 4.2 is very nice.  I got it installed on my Galaxy Nexus yesterday.  The swype keyboard is a nice addition.  Role on everyone's Nexus 4's!

I bit the bullet and walked down the road to buy one at lunch, have had a little play round so far and is definitely a lot snapper in UI and browsing than my GS2.

Still angry with the whole wording debarcle but at the end of the day I needed a new handset and wasnt willing to sit round twiddling my thumbs for an indeterminable period of time till Google shorted their ****.

Nexus 4 yes, sorry assumed that was a given as this is the nexus 4 thread. Should have read ordering rather than wording.
