My estimated shipping time was 1-2 weeks so I'm not sure why it went so fast. I got an order in about 3 hours after they went up.

Today it will arrive at Youshop, havent use it before, not sure how long it will take to get here:

Package info:
Portland, OR, United States 12/03/2012 4:08 A.M. Out For Delivery

You get an email soon after you order, just for confirmation(receipt)
You get another when its shipped, your wallet will now have the tracking number (the wallet will show all the dates that I posted)

Anyone else notice that the shipping time on Google Play for the 16GB model has dropped? Yesterday it was 6-7 weeks, whilst today it is 5-6 weeks.

I was considering ordering a 16GB version and seeing whether the 8GB I ordered last week or the 16GB version got shipped first (an egg in both baskets so to speak). I was banking on the fact that I could cancel one order if necessary.

I'm seeing this as a positive and could (hopefully) spell good news that they are trying to get through the back orders as quickly as possible, especially seeing how users on here have had their 1-2 weeks orders already shipped (see above).

Just strange how they have stopped the 8GB phone being ordered?

Yes to VPN.  I am using tunnelbear which is awesome.  Then  I am using NZPOSTS new service Youshop.co.nz

There are others people use shipitto I have heard mentioned

How do you make payment??
I have used VPN to access the Google Play store, and entered the youshop shipping address... however my usual credit card that I use for all my google play purchases is greyed out and shown as "unsupported payment method".. and if i try to enter another card.. it requires a US billing address?

Doesnt work for me.
I think the billing address has to be the same as the CC billing address otherwise it wont verify the CC?

Yes you are right.  For me I had to first change my credit card address at ASB by logging in and putting my Youshop Oregon address in.  The google wallet still didn't accept this so I then created a new gmail/wallet account with the youshop address and updated with same CC and it all went through splendidly

Good luck.  You will get there!

Looks like a big markup going on  here.  kiwi tax??   If NL and 2D  can get it why can't the kiwi plebs buy it directly??

Retail pricing was expected to be greater than the (possibly Google subsidised) Play Store

Oh and I'm 95% sure it's official LG stock, no parallel imported business going on

OMG that's that then, I'm cancelling my order with Mobicity.co.nz. I was paying them $772 for the 16gb but would much rather buy from NZ for warranty reasons. They can't even give me an estimated time of delivery. Also despite mobi putting on gst I'm not convinced that I wont still have to pay a courier handling fee.

However now I can't get through to them on the phone ahhhh

After their "we'll put through your order but later cancel it due to lack of stock" thing with the HP TouchPad fire sale I stay away from them

Chances are you'll be able to get it cheaper for retail here if Warehouse Stationary stock it, just use their 5% price match discount, $760
