shaunyboy: Hey bilboabaggins,

I ordered from Noel Leeming on the 24th (which I think is the same parent company as Bond and Bond).

I went into a store earlier (morning of the 27th) to ask for info regarding the wait time, after getting a generic "Processing" email on Boxing Day.

They said that mine would be sent out from the supplier sometime on the 27th and would arrive at the store (as I elected to have it delivered there rather than my home) in a day or two.

Not that there's any certainties in this game, but I figure yours will only be a day or two behind mine.

Hope it arrives soon!

I bought 24th arrived yesterday love it
Battery life a problem these batteries dont need a good charge u can begin using right away so its defin the battery life

I'm glad you guys got yours' so promptly. Fingers crosses I'll get mine today. It is rather exciting!

Slightly off-topic: has anyone had a go at cutting their sim down to a micro-sim? I heard (anecdotally) that some shops charge a ridiculous fee for it, so am keen to do it myself. Have found some guides online.

Your a hobbit you will get yours today :D
Btw you get your track and trace number?

I opted to pick-up from the botany store. Think I'll give them a call in a few hours just to check.

Haha nice. For those that already have their phone, have any of you got a wireless charger or have thought about getting one? What are your thoughts?

Nice. I've been looking at http://store.wpcentral.com/zens-wireless-single-charger/5A233A12862.htm. Apparently it works with the Nexus 4 without issue. It's about $67 USD including shipping. Pricey compared to a $1 microusb charger! Hmm...so tempting though :)

I ordered one of these http://www.gadgets4geeks.com.au/product/qi_wireless_charger. Well I got a friend in Australia to order me one as they don't ship to New Zealand easily. It hasn't arrived yet, still waiting on shipping to friends address. It's on the pricey side but I'm not worried.

Hallelujah!

Mine arrived from Google Play today. Ordered 27th Nov. Arrived Youshop USA 19th DEC from Google.

So considering it's xmas I'm impressed with Youshop. They don't send a NZ tracking number mind, the first I knew was an email sent to me saying it had been delivered. There is was, at my door.

The amazing thing is that it was a 16gb model and I declared the full value at Youshop and it went sailing straight through customs. So total landed cost to me is NZ $463.

I rang LG NZ (answered in Oz) and asked about warranty who said as it was purchased in another country it wasn't covered in NZ but they would help out over the phone etc if I called with a problem.

So was it worth it? Countless hours slaving over the PC trying to purchase one of these things using VPN forums refreshing +++ etc etc! Ahhhhh

In short ....NO! However it was a thrill of the chase type of thing that kept me inspired during the dark times and also the support and comradery experienced through the forums. Thanks so much guys for all the support and help.  Needed a crystal ball to see that they would be available for $640 in NZ

Oh and The most important thing of all: was the phone worth the wait? Hell yes! What a beast. It is just the most awesome phone ever held in my hands....until sometime next year :-)

Note: this item is currently pre-order with expected delivery to be mid Jan 2013

Seems like all wireless chargers are scarce at the moment, I have the Zens one on backorder. I tried my Nokia charging plate that I was using with the 920 and it doesn't work well, only got one successful charge out of it now all it does it flick between charging and not charging then eventually stops charging

I canceled my order from NL because when I called they told me that I should expect the phone to be delivered mid to late Jan. WHS Mt Wellington had stock and they beat the price by 5% which came out to $607 so better off in the end anyway!

Just called NL. They said they have an active purchase order on them from the supplier and stock is likely to come in next week.

:twiddles thumbs:
