northover: Well it's done! Cancelled Mobicity and reordered with Noel Leemings. Sooo easy
I ordered one from Noel Leeming yesterday as well, got the confirmation email that the order had been placed etc.

Now if you go to the link for the Nexus 4 (http://www.noelleeming.co.nz/shop/communications/mobile-cellular-phones-cellphones/2degrees/2degrees-smartphones/lg-nexus4-google-nexus-4-smartphone/prod120508.html) you get a message saying:

NL: Sorry, the ‘LG GOOGLE NEXUS 4 SMARTPHONE’ is no longer available online.

Contact our dedicated customer service team for some expert help.

I hope that means they're just out of stock and they still intend on shipping them.

Ah well, that was short lived.

NL: Dear Customer,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Unfortunately at this stage because we have yet to receive our first shipment nor have an estimated date that we will be receiving stock we have removed this from the website.

We are still able to take pre-orders on the number below or in any of our stores but could not advise exactly when we would be able to fulfill the order.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

I will try again tonight to order one from the Play Store. It didn't like my Westpac VISA or Debit Card.

Has anyone had any luck with a OneSmart card? I just registered one last night.

Heres what you do exactly.
1.Register a completely brand new gmail account.
2.Register on youshop.
3. Download tunnel bear and switch it to US.
4. Go to checkout with whatever item you want (in this case nexus 4)
5. It will ask you for 2 things shipping address and billing address.
6. For shipping address you should fill out everything with ease as youshop provides you with every slot to fill out.
7. For billing you write out your credit card. Your cvc. Your expiry date. And the name on your card (put it in caps because that's what every card has it in (in caps)
8. Then for billing address again write the exact address given to you by youshop.
9. Remember name is your credit card.
10. Should be finished.

This is the easiest way to do it.

If you want to fill out customs yourself and declare the value yourself since youshop doesn't allow that option you can register with shipito. They provide cheaper rates faster shipping and is more of freedom of choice as opposed to youshop.

If however you want to go with shipito register with them (you have to pay 8.50 for your first package as a deposit so they know your willing). You then for shipping address write shipitos address. For billing address I wrote out youshops address. I believe this is legal because there is nothing on their terms & conditions that prevents us from using them as a billing address especially when you have registered with them. One more thing to note is that I had to fill out 2 types of phone numbers. I filled out my real phone number for one of them. Then it asked for US number and so I just began the extension with youshops number and wrote random crap lol. But either way they don't care about billing address they just want to know if your purchasing from the US and they can snatch your money with ease :) that's all so I hope I helped any questions just ask.

you will probably also need to change the billing address for your CC to the same as your you shop address also

I'm guessing is that $799 for the 16G model?

Will it be straight from Google, or specific for 2d?

That's great news from 2degrees. A healthly mark up, but way less hassle than what I am (and others are) doing (and the warranty aspect is worth a fair bit in my view).

I'll stick it out with Google Play for now (1 week down from my 6-7 week expected order!!) and see if all the shenanigans I've had to go through to get the phone pay off for getting it el-cheapo (albeit the 8GB model).

Also - means I'll be able to pop into the store to have a play with one!!

It's from 2 degrees. The Nexus 4 I purchased from from the Noel Leemings store online yesterday was a 2 Degrees one (not available any more).

I also popped into a 2 Degrees outlet yesterday and asked. He said yes we are getting the N4 before Christmas and will be sold for $799 and are totally unlocked. He said I may get a couple (I secretly laughed that he thought a couple may do it haha)

I sense it's getting CLOSER :-)
