I have a Huawei G300 and today I did a firmware update that made me back up everything first.  To my knowledge I backed everything up just fine (I saw all the separate boxes being ticked as it backed up everything) but once the update finished and restarted all my personal things had gone - apps, contact details, photos, etc.  Is there any way of getting these back?  Is there something extra I need to do?

Is there a folder called Huawei Backup on your sd card?

Sounds like you have only backed up your phone data and not your apps+data, settings, photos etc
