I'd been overseas for a couple weeks, and upon returning the weather widget on my Note II (Telecom) now reports the location as just Auckland, and the North Shore is Marlborough (a tiny suburb).

The widget used to report exactly which suburb you were in across the whole city.

I have a S III on Vodafone which stayed in NZ, but that too is reporting just Auckland and Marlborough.

I'll assume it's a problem with the service from AccuWeather, but anyone else experiencing this too?

Maps, GPS, etc, all work fine.

Sounds like an Accuweather problem although I'm running custom Rom with Met service app. Can you go in and manually set location to Auckland

You can but then it still stays as Auckland.

It has to be a feed issue. Two phones on separate networks both stopping reporting accurately at the same time. I've emailed AccuWeather as well.

I found mine became really inaccurate with location after the Jellybean update... It irritated me so I have started using the Metservice app instead.

I've been having the same problem, but just checked now and was expecting to be seeing Marlborough, but now its is correctly displaying Takapuna.

I found the stock apps to be only partially accurate anyway. I use the Metservice App when I am in NZ and Pocket Weather when in AU. Both with their widgets set to 'Follow Me'.

Yeah my SG III is doing the same. Live in Grey Lynn and it shows the location fine. But at work at Northcote Point is says Marlborough. Thought it was just my phone but hadn't really had a look to see what might be the problem.

Well I emailed AccuWeather when I first made this thread, they replied asking for more details, then said they would forward it to their Wireless department, then as of this morning it seems to be all back to normal again.
