CutCutCut:
aim: Here's my car tab;

Is that an app you run to make it car friendly or a launcher? I'd love something like that for my phone when I'm in the car.

A few details;

It's Holo launcher modified with Desktop Visualizer with a few high res .png's as the icons. Gesture control done by Holo Launcher, swipe up for apps, down for notifications.

If Metservice could incorporate their own clock in a similar fashion that would be nice

I agree, its the only negative about the app

Slightly off topic, but I have a request for an icon, does anybody here make them?

They're just 32-bit PNG files (launch icons)

I drew my own 'Geekzone' avatar just using vector graphics so it's not that hard. Give it a go :-)

Functional in black, but with a BSPlayer (video player) movie playing in a 'pop-up' window.
One can continue to watch the movie while working on other Android tasks. One can move the windows around  when it ocludes another part of the screen.

I tend to change my homescreens a lot (weekly). Just enjoying the customisability of Android I guess.

My lockscreen (Widgetlocker) is very busy with big scrollable calendar widget, some notification stuff, torch, music player, weather, big clock etc.

My current homescreen is below.

This is a Samsung Galaxy S3, and what you can see is: Android 4.1 Jellybean, NZ Phone Account Widget, Nova Launcher Prime, & Minimalistic Text.

I have screens to the left and right with icons & widgets for Africa.

Hmm.. interesting. In _MY_ view this is the best of the home screens still displayed here today.

Nice blend of dark to light from top to bottom, complementary palette of mainly autumn colours.
Switcher embraces the colour of the background image.
The mood of the image is restful and promotes return glances encouraging your eyes to wander and to muse over reflections in the windows.
Word clock doesn't overpower the image.
Having black and white icons/widgets at the bottom makes a clean break from image and phone functionality.

[Oh gosh, did I just think that out loud in writing!!!]

why thank you my good man

i did indeed ponder the same elements that you picked out yourself

photo is of my 1980 honda accord in front of the old (but recently renewed and paved) Elliot St in the city, the Smith and Caugheys building. i did indeed try to match widgetsoid's indicator colours to the pallete of the scene to not stand out too much but still act as an indicator. the photo was run thru Pixelromatic for a slight blur to defocus the eye away from the background, to enhance the foreground icons/widgets (especially on other homescreens). and minimalistic text is still good as always.

glad someone else also picked it up/appreciated it :)
