I'm just annoyed the S3's that VFNZ are selling now are 2Gb, Dual Carrier (and also LTE enabled)

Instead of this crappy 1Gb non-DC one I have.

AT LEAST I HAVE FM RADIO THOUGH!

Yea. I'm clinging to that.

friendlymonkey: I have a Vodafone s3 running on 2degrees and I can't seem to get video calling to work? Have tried video calling another s3 on the 2degrees network. Both devices come up "connection failed. Cannot make video call".
Would this be due to my device not having correct settings for 2degrees.. if so what settings need changing and how do I change them?

Thanks for any help.

i've exactly same problem. it worked few times when i first got my phone since then it stopped! it was my 2D to wife's vodafone btw.

I thought 2D blocked video calls on $19 combos. probably i should check with 2degrees too.

Thats the price we pay for being early adopters.
Its going to be quite some time before LTE actually takes off, DC will take its time to get across the country as well, especially in semi-rural areas such as where i live (Blenheim), so im personally not to worried about it. The galaxy S4 or even S5 will be out before ill have the chance to get some DC/LTE action Surprised

Hmm, I wasn't aware that these were being sold in NZ. My understanding was that the LTE band supported on the i9350 were not compatible with what was planned for NZ. Is this a new carrier specific model that they are offering?

I've been weighing up whether I need 2GB and the big factor that is holding me back is battery life. The battery is the same one used in the i9300 and its considerably shorter. Its great having all that extra ram and 4G, but if you can barely get through a day...

johnr, so thats confirmation then?

Are they black, grey, or both? Are they the same as what Telstra Australia are selling or different bands for NZ?
I can't see any reference to them on the VF site (yet).

I was a dumb blonde.. turns out. Under call settings > call barring I had bar incoming/outgoing video calls checked. I never checked these boxes. But problem fixed now :)

So gutted. An extra gb of ram would have been good. A mate has a parallel imported model with 2gb, a lot snappier and no blank home screens
