Can any telco confirm if they are testing 4.1.2 for SGS3...?

Wouldnt want my handset to suddenly die when its approx 200 days old...

and 4.1.2 apparently fixes this issue.

They'd be foolish is they weren't already well down this track... I personally hope they've all already done the testing and we're now just waiting for Samsung to push it out.

If it was apple, this would likely to have made the mainstream news. But if a software update fixes it, you would expect that it would be top priority. That is probably why the international unlocked ones had the update so quickly.

It is on Samsung Apps store. Try click on "More Services..." app in your appdrawer.

See if you can find it. It used to be in there for me but since when I'm on 4.1.2, I can't see it anymore.

If the international unlocked handsets had the update already then it comes down to our telcos for the delay.. Hope they push it onto samsung soon enough..

Vodafone NZ and other telcos might get the update sometimes in April if we're lucky lol. Good old Telcos procedures.

The SDS has been known for a while so I''m surprised that NZ telco's don't have the fix already given what it must be costing Samsung.

On the point of letrting people know, if you have been following it on XDA you'll see that it has caused a ruckus with the slightest problem causing people to panic thinking their phone will die so see no need to unduly panic people if the are working on the fix and repairing free of charge those affected.

As for the water damage, it has been suggested to take a pic of the patch under the battery so you can prove it wasn't water damaged but think its highly unlikely they would use this given the information going around.

Hi guys. I'm now a victim of SDS. Phone started slowing down and randomly locking up not long after 2Degrees pushed out the last update just before Christmas. Today picked it up and it's stuck on the boot screen and can't get into recovery. Also can't flash anything on to it. I'm in London now so I'd imagine sorting this out from here will be a lengthy and arduous process. I'm disappointed this wasn't sorted by 2Degrees in the last update.

Yep, NZ phones have an NZ only warranty. Samsung sell an international warranty in some regions, but not in this part of the world.

Hmm... another victim of this disease.

Missus phone might be in the same process. Got to upgrade it to 4.1.2 asap.
