they are quad band phones so its all good that way.

I'm on XT and as said have found all the custom roms I've used to be fine. All you would need to do is to disable fast dormancy if using another Rom.

robfish: Is there an official ROM available from SamFirmware which will work well with Telecom XT network?

Sorry, I meant to ask about 4.1.2 which, by most accounts, reduces the risk of SDS.

Thanks - a Google search on quad band was very enlightening.
I would like to upgrade to 4.1.2 but I prefer to use official ROM's as I do like TouchWiz.

There aren't many places the GT-I9300T is sold. NZ, AU and Thailand is it.

4.1.2 Telstra ROM availabe here:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-I9300T&pcode=TEL&os=1&type=1#firmware

4.1.2 VF AU here:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-I9300T&pcode=VAU&os=1&type=1#firmware

Either of those will work fine, but will have carrier specific branding (As there are no unbranded GT-I9300Ts)

You can always flash one, then flash the official Telecom one over the top once it comes out. As long as you don't factory reset, your settings and data should remain.

Flash 4.1.2 Vodafone or 2Degrees and change Fast Dormancy setting to OFF, you'll need root for that.

Touchwiz is an option for most custom Roms.

Any stock Rom is fine as long as it is after ELXX, EMA2 is the latest I believe.

Anyone notice stock Music Player Custom equaliser somehow lower the volume when you raise the frequency up?

From what I understanding the +10DB should make the frequency band more louder but it is completely opposite.
So technically adjusting it down will change nothing but raise it up will reduce the volume.
I think this is a bug. Previously in 4.0.4 everything seemed to work accordingly. But since 4.1.1, I found that Music Player isn't as loud as before and cannot tweak the audio.

After reading about Fast Dormancy (and how to turn it off) I think I will just be patient and wait for Telecom to release their 4.1.2 ROM

Oh I thought someone has 4.1.2 2Degrees after get the phone back from repair centre. My bad.

But rooting is fairly easy. Not disabling Fast dormancy is not really a big problem other than your battery would drain a bit more faster on XT. lol.

Ok im taking an S3 back back its driving me crazy with dropped calls and turning itself off randomly.

I ran triangle away but I think the root is stopping it from OTA updates as it detects modified so will Odin flash the 2D Rom again.

Dont want any customising messing up my warranty chances ;-)

First check if you have a MicroSD card plugged in :)

If you have then remove it and reboot. You should see STATUS: Normal.
The reason the status is Modified is because you have thirdparty Recovery. Had that on mine too, i'm removing CWM now and run TriangleAway again.
Try flash stock ROM 4.1.1 on again after TriangleAway. Suggesting you buy the paid version from Playstore for better result.

What you have suggested doesn't work, I have tried this and so have others.

How do you actually uninstall CWM, mine only has an option to disable, but not uninstall ?
