TheUngeek: Why do people want to remove the menu button?

Because the best bit about having a 4.7" screen is being able to use the whole thing and not have the bottom 5-8mm blacked out by a bar with three dots on it. Properly enabled ICS apps have the small menu button in the top righthand corner. Dual featuring the 'recent apps' button seems to be the most elegant solution in my book.

Oh that one. Never noticed it as an issue before.?
I probably will now. Thanks :p

Sorry, sometimes ignorance is bliss. Roll on 2.05..........eventually (TelecomNZ).

I've just flashed CM10 with Jelly bean on my One X and aside from a few known issues its so smooth and really polished, only thing I miss from sense 4 is the camera app, the camera works fine but no HDR etc. that I loved.

Cool, which ROM did you use? I've been considering it but hoping they make some progress on the issues.

I am only on Preview 3 but everything works well.

I underclock when just browsing, saves a heap of power and you dont really notice the difference

Over the last two days, my HTC One X has stopped locking on to GPS satellites, especially using the Navigation app - it just sits there saying "Searching for GPS". To put this in perspective, up until now I've been using the Navigation app almost daily with no issues at all - usually works perfectly. But yesterday and today it just wouldn't get an accurate position. I've checked all the settings and all the GPS options were turned on. I thought perhaps an errant app had caused the issue so I just did a full factory reset, but the problem persists. I've tried using the GPS Status and GPS Test apps - both report that my phone can see many satellites, but it never locks on to one. Could this be a hardware issue?

Just went outside to test to try my One X to eliminate that there might have been something happening with GPS satellites, bearing in mind the solar flare activity over the past couple of weeks. I know it was a long shot since there hasn't been any fuss raised in the media.
Anyhow, my phone got a solid lock within about 20 seconds so I guess you can discount the satellite signal being weak or affected. My phone is on the 1.26 firmware.

Hey thanks for trying that for me. I'm pretty sure it's a hardware fault, otherwise resetting back to factory settings would have fixed the problem.

What's your experience during calls (volume/echo)? I use this for business so it has to work OK for calls. Note also that Preview 5 is out, did you upgrade yet?

Running preview 6 now, call quality seems fine, no echo. Volumes are normal except when plugged into headphone plug it always reverts to half volume to start with buts still adjusts fine. Have had a few random soft reboots though just when watching a video and on Facebook. Not frequent but still a pain.

Seriously considering changing back to sense though I miss the stock camera app so much..

Really can't make up my mind between this and the SIII.

I prefer the Camera on the SIII, better battery and can add additional storage. But it feels cheap and lightweight whereas the One X looks beautiful has better camera FEATURES and feels like a beast of a smartphone should. Prefer the elegence of Sense to Touchwiz, but don't like that you can't swap batteries or add additional storage.

I've had a play with both and that doesn't really change anything lol.

I'm stuck.

Yeah found it on xda, I had been looking on their website, no offical ROMs for the One X on there though...
ROM is pretty cool, Jellybean looks reeeeal good! But they still have some things to work out and it's not complete enough for me yet.
Going to trial Villian as I found that the best on my Desire.

Don't get a Telecom One X if you go for the HTC. The 1.26 ROM they are stuck on sucks with battery life. I mean really sucks
