Should be some pretty good custom rims out shortly.

Unfortunatlry the CID seems to have something to do with upgrading. So I'm not sure us Telecom people will be able to use them for a while yet :(

kingP: So team,

After two weeks of waiting, my phone came back from Auckland..... they have told me the motherboard is lose and that this was a manufacturing fault.

So my phone is now being sent back to its origin so be inspected and replaced, this means a further 4-6 weeks without my phone Cry

This is the first time (of the 4 I have parallel imported) that I have had any warranty issues with a phone.

Has anyone else had or seen anything about this on any forums?

P.S  I buy my phones off Ezigadget.co.nz they have always been very competitive on price and have so far been good with my warranty and they have even lent me an S2 yesterday while the phone is returned to HTC.

So another event in my tale......

I have started a new topic as not to derail this one: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=97&topicid=111487

Anybody got the HOX JB OTA? I've been hearing about it overseas, and I'm constantly rechecking my Clove.co.uk HOX for it!

Looks like only Taiwan has it so far. Trying to decide whether to re-lock and get the OTA or wait for it to be incorporated into custom ROMs. If you're rooted, supposedly Maxiumus 6.0 is the OTA with a couple of tweaks.

Making good use of the new USB OTG functionality using DSLR Controller to control my canon camera - wicked app.

alexingram: Managed to get back to Stock ROM, but can't OTA the latest Telecom update - I'm as far as I going to get without screwing it up totally. I want to return it for a unresponsive section of the screen - but just ran another safemode test and all seems OK for now......

Just got phone back from Telecom (2 weeks), Motherboard was replaced under warranty - no questions asked.

....and that is why I will never parallel import ever again. Its not worth the $200 you save!! will never go without a real warranty again.

Man, HTC dropped the ball with the DNA phone. Would be a great all around phone bar for the pathetic 16GB memory and no SDcard slot. Criminal, unforgiveable and a great way to cut the numbers of people buying it.

Easy there tiger. The DNA is made specifically for Verizon, who have a financial stake in getting people to sign up for large LTE data plans. I'm sure the 16GB max was dictated by Verizon, as it was by ATT for the LTE One X. They want people to pay to access their media stored in the cloud.

The Japanese version of the DNA (the Butterfly J) has an SD slot, and I'd imagine that the international version (the Deluxe) will have either 32GB of space or an SD slot, or both.

Did not realize the Japanese version had one. I take it all back. Now I am tempted again.

I agree with you, I would not buy a phone with only 16GB memory. But remember that HTC has a long history - for better or worse - of designing US phones per carrier demands. International versions seem to be more logically equipped. I've been fine with 32GB in my One X, and here's to hoping the Deluxe is similarly spec'd.

I have a 16GB S3 with a 32GB SD Card, I have just about maxed out both. I need the ability to add extra storage.

I just hope the camera is an improvement over the X line, it's the one thing that stopped me from getting the X+ is the downgrade in quality from my S3, which is a shame because I love the built quality of HTC

I note that this and several other owner's threads have been unpinned and cast adrift into the turbulent waters of the forum. All I can say is 'about time'. If a device is topical enough it will be held near the top of the forum list anyway. Even the mighty SIII doesn't really need to be pinned. Anybody that interested in a particular handset can either bookmark the thread or 'watch' it.

Once Jellybean is officially released worldwide for the HOX there may be a bit more activity in this thread. I'm still hoping for a pre-Christmas official OTA.

On a different tack. I am considering getting a OneX+, rooting, custom ROMing and then underclocking it. I figured with the bigger battery I may get an even longer life between charges. But I am unsure whether that will really achieve much over the stock OneX+ jellybean ROM because I don't use my phone for gaming. Any comments?

I see there is a great deal on the HTC One X at the warehouse today - if only I wasn't skint!

Noob question: I just got my phone back from warranty and noticed it won't update the OS so I did some digging and installed "CID Getter" and found my COD is 11111111 is that normal for an international version?

Have done more research and am in the process of trying to get it back to either HTC_044 (Asia) or the NZ VODAP022 so that it can receive OTA updates.
