Adobe being Evil (TM), or no Save As PDF on Office 2007 anymore
But when Microsoft decided to implement the "Save As PDF" format on Microsoft Office 2007, then Adobe decided to make it a "closed" format, by asking Microsoft to remove this feature from the package!
Now, that's evil, isn't it?
If small companies use the format, it's ok. But when a larger (ok, the big guy) decides to use the same format then it's not ok. Obviously certain companies have anti-[anything bigger than you] zealots around, right?
Microsoft plans to offer this feature as a separate download.
Not nice of you Adobe. And we do have Adobe software installed in the Apple iMac here at home. What a shame.

That is kind of annoying... Mac users have PDF integration just like that, with previews and more.
Personally, I think the sooner we move to non-proprietary document formats like ODF, the better.

If Adobe didn't have a case, do you think Microsoft would have backed down? When you have a monopoly, you have to play by different rules. An alternative view of the story is at:

That is rather evil. I find the save as PDF in Office 2007 very handy.
It can only make Adobes format MORE popular if people using Office can create PDF's. You still need Acrobat to read them.
Dont understand their position here

Then you need to go back and re-read the last three paragraphs. They make it very clear.

Yes, Adobe is EVIL. For lots of reasons.
I paid hundreds of dollar for Flash Pro 8. Now I can't install it because the serial number refuses to work and Adobe's answer is "too bad so sad, not our problem. Figure it out yourself or pay us more money for a newer version." (That I don't need.)
Too make it even sweeter, while waiting on hold for a supervisor in tech support, the clock ticked past closing time and their system just cut me off.
Adobe... PFFFFTTT!
