A Pardigm Shift

I Have been on the planet for close on 60 years now, and over that time I have experienced a major shift in Payments and Form Processing.

I am wondering if it was intentional or a result of circumstance that has been taken advantage of by business.

So what bought this diatribe on? The joining up with Pass The Parcel. I signed up all online which is pretty much standard and then came the clever bit they got me to pay for the service before i used it!!
Trademe does the same thing and I am sure there are others. You see I remember when (last week) I received a statement from a suppleir for payment of goods RECIVED. Plus at the bottem of the stetment it showed 30 60 90 days Where if I was behind the arrears would show. (that by the way means to me that the company is prepared to wait up to 90 days for payment!

Another company that is successfully exploiting this phenomena is Powershop. They make it an exciting game and a great experience to pay for power. You are so thrilled to save on a "special package deal" you forget the horrendous  rort that is power supply in NZ.

The other area that has changed is the online filling out of forms. Now this is good and bad. Bad you don't interact with a person who sits there filling out the form for you. Good you get to fill out the form from home or work. This mean that you are now doing what was there work but you are not getting paid for it!.

Ok I better get back to it something to think about anyway....
