nothing constructed before or since can compare with such longevity, size and sheer impressiveness...
or perhaps not so.
Over the past while there has been a lot of controvesy over three hills / pyramids in Bosnia & Herzegovina in the town of Visoko- one in particular the "Pyramid of the Sun" - standing at 267 metres tall, totally dwarfs the pyramids at Giza.
While rumours have abounded around the site for some time, recent discoveries have lead to further proof that these may not be natural structures and that they are man made.
Initial Excavations have revealed a narrow entrance to what could be a network of tunnels.
the man leading the dig is Semir Osmanagić.
he is quoted as saying "My Discovery will Change Human History" and if his theories prove true, then he is absolutely correct.
the apparent pyramid is at least 2,500 years old and may even date back to the last Ice Age - which ended about 10,000 years ago
If its closer to the latter than the former then it will completely rewrite the textbooks, more so than removing pluto's status as a full planet!
But lets face it, the chances aren't that great from a traditional - educated perspective, Archaeology is by no means the newest science, with modern Archaeology being conducted in an organised fashion for about 200 years.
selling the pyramids will be a hard job, it'll take extraordinary evidence to back up his extraordinary claims.
I for one think its incredibly exciting. I hope for the sake of the bosnia people that this positive ray of light in a country that has been torn by war and tragedy for so long that something comes of the pyramids.
it would be a wonderfully positive and incredibly exciting thing.
It has been admited that the actual hill was already there, so still not as impressive as the pyramids at Giza, which were built on a completely flat surface...
better still though if they could find it is completely man-made - totally unlikely though, however I'm allowed to be whimsical for a moment.
simply discovering the pyramids are definitely what they look like that'd be incredible.

I've read an interesting article on http://www.bosnian-pyramid.net
about the corners of the pyramid. It would be an easy way to proof
quickly the existence, but they dig near the corners but not the
corners. Then they've dug something on the top of it, but not the
top!? I've seen some pictures on that really let me think again about
this whole thing. Every day I believe less in this mystery.
