Videotrace: Rapid interactive scene modelling from video.

, posted: 23-Jun-2008 14:01

A really cool new piece of technology is in the works from a collaboration between "The Austrailian centre for Visual technologies (University of Adelaide)" and "The Oxford Brookes computer Vision Group" This tech. is really neat, basically you take a basic video, and then skip through it, and draw some basic 2D sketches of objects, which it then takes and interprets using some really cool techniques it generates a full 3D model. I'd really love to get my hands on this tech and have a play around, to me it looks like it'll be the next level of "Photoshopping" More information available at the VideTrace website.

thats pretty cool, I was going to do that for a masters or phd in 2003 but decided not to keep going with the study. I'd probably be still going now, lol
but its good to see that someone has nailed it.
