Mobile email with xtra

I wanted to keep my 10 year old email address, but wanted mobile email (without paying Telecom and without replacing my JasJar with an Apache). Final solution was Small Business Server 2003 as POP3/SMTP gateway. Xtra does not allow SMTP from non-xtra IP addresses, so the server at home collects and sends email (aDSL) while the externally exposed HTTPS allows ActiveSync over any connection (WiFi, GPRS & UMTS) while DirectPush is supported for cellular (GPRS & UMTS).

I found an assortment of documents regarding Server 2003 configuration for this task, but the link below was the best for a fresh install.
