Sony Vaio X Series (VPCX117LG) Windows 7 Restore Media

, posted: 29-Nov-2009 12:45

this probably applies to all Vaio netbooks, if you have a virtual optical drive installed then connect a physical optical drive, the restore media software does not provide a selection dialogue to alllow the user to select the optical drive to write to. I'm using Daemon Tools Lite and used the "remove drive" option, plugged in the physical drive, and then it wrote the restore media. After that I added the virtual drive back in and all was well.
