It's blogtastic!

I can see the Vodafone NZ iPhone 3G APN settings file... he he

He he... and I don't even own an iPhone... why should I care?

I won't be linking to the file directly, but the open XML file that Apple has will point you in the right direction.

Just like .IPSW files, rename it as .ZIP, and open, and find carrier.plist.

It's there you'll find a preset bookmark, APN, Voicemail number, Carrier image reference, "SupportedSIMs", and some Boolean settings.

It's all up to you guys.

JUST IN: Edit your APN to www.vodafone.net.nz by going to http://www.unlockit.co.nz on your iPhone! (from Lennon)

Interesting that the voicemail is obviously set for +6421700700 rather than 707

Maybe because when you roam you call this rather than just 707.

By the way, "SupportedSIMs" is a reference to MNC

707 is set up in new SIM's as the default VM number and is available on most overseas networks for roaming. If you go to Aussie and dial 707 you pay 20c for the whole call (just like NZ) vs normal airtime rates if you call 021 700700.

If you look at the Telstra config they have their VM set up as 121 and while roaming it uses +61121

Yeah - that's true... not sure how it's going to really work out in the end.

Ugh... roaming fees are extraordinarily high.

So who is going to tell the commerce commission about the SIM locking? Not unexpected but...ahem...they just got warned off this.

Apparently Vodafone allow unlocking of the iPhone, but I'm not completely sure if it's true.

Vodafone has now changed their casual data rate to $1 per day for 10MB per day usage.

This is about changing APNs to allow casual data from the iPhone 3G. Nothing else - so the AnySIM unlock has nothing to do with it.
