Prepaid Mobile Broadband options
It was also a good opportunity to compare other Prepaid Mobile Broadband options.
So here are 4 (large) graphs for you to look at.
I've included 2degrees even though they don't have 3G yet, just to show how it would stack up cost-wise. I've also removed the lower-usage plans from higher usage graphs as it's obvious that those plans aren't good for high usage.
I've also assumed that people using Vodafone's Broadband Lite and Surfer plans will continue to get the equivalent "top up" data bundle.

It was a comment by NealR in the free XT T-stick thread.
NealR: This SIM card/Phone number has $29.95 credit on it.
The phone numbers sold as part of this promotion have been automatically signed up for the 500MByte plan rather than the $1 per day plan.
On this 500 MB plan you'll be charged 10c per MB for the first 300 MB and the next 200 MB are free.
If you happen to go over your data allowance, then you'll automatically get a further 500 MB of data to use in that same calendar month for just $29.95. Same rules apply where you are charged 10c per MB for the first 300 MB and the next 200 MB are free. And after that's used up, then each megabyte will cost 10c until the end of the calendar month.
The SIM card (phone number) will have $29.95 credit on it until you use the SIM card. It does not disappear after one month. Remember a you need to topup at least once every 6 months.

THANKS! you just saved me a job. I was a little tied up and completed some of these.
Any chance of you uploading the source files?

"Once you go over 500 MB they start charging you 10c/MB again until for the next 300 MB (i.e 800MB total). So the XT graph should slope from 0 to 300, flat from 300 to 500, slope from 500 to 800 and then flat from 800 to 1000, then slope from there on in."
Didn't realise that.
Great =]

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but XT services are actually a bit cheaper than advertised because of the bonus you get when topping up your prepaid account. I think you get a free $20 when topping up $60, so you can actually take 25% off advertised prices (You get $80 worth of services for $60). 25% off is quite significant in my opinion

I think there is a slight error with the XT plan in the bottom graph. Once you go over 500 MB they start charging you 10c/MB again until for the next 300 MB (i.e 800MB total). So the XT graph should slope from 0 to 300, flat from 300 to 500, slope from 500 to 800 and then flat from 800 to 1000, then slope from there on in.
Nice comparisons by the way.
