Good time to buy Telecom shares?

, posted: 29-Aug-2006 12:59

Telecom's shares as at 12:28pm stands at $4.04.

This is around the all time low for Telecom.... with the recent announcement of the sale of Yellowpages, which could fetch well over $1 billion dollars, is it a good time Telecom shares?

As they could possibly use the money from Yellowpages to perform a share buyback as well as a healthy dividents of 55c to 60c per share (according to ASB Securities)

So if I invested just over $4000 and managed to get myself 1000 shares, this mean that I could possibly get $500 of dividents when YP finally sells.....

The fact the share price has dropped since the announcement of the possible Yellow Pages deal gives you a good indication as to the feeling in the market of such a decision.. stoopid.

bah. I own a number of TNZ shares. They are just sitting wasting away. I havent the heart to sell them... Im sure they will improve and return good medium term gains, but if i was investing new money, it could just be into a term deposit :-(
