You were my idol Brocky. We will remember you always. From my days at Kingswood where you taught us Popular Mechanics on an old bomb to your time with your wife walking around St Andrews market. You were an inspiration.

I stagger to write, Peter Brock dead. My mind is in a turmoil, I have followed Brockie since I was a small boy, having met Brockie on a couple of Targa Tasmania occasions, I am in disbelief, he is and always be like one of my family. R.I.P. Peter Brock

Wow what a huge loss to us Australians and to the world. He was simply the best at what he did and made myself and many Australians proud both with his achievements and how he was as a person. He really was a great australian and genuine nice guy. I can't believe he's gone :(

If I should ever leave you, Whom I love To go along the silent way. . . Grieve not. Nor speak of me with tears. But laugh and talk of me As if I were beside you there. (I'd come. . .I'd come, Could I but find a way! But would not tears and And grief be barriers?) And when you hear a song Or see a bird I loved, Please do not let the thought of me Be sad. . .for I am loving you Just as I always have. . . You were so good to me! There are so many things I wanted still to do. . . So many things I wanted to say to you. . . Remember that I did not fear. . . It was Just leaving you That was so hard to face. We cannot see beyond. . . But this I know: I loved you so. . . 'twas heaven here with you! Rest in peace Peter

I was assoicated with Mobil for many years of the Brock .At a race meeting at Lakeside we were in the Mobil/Bridgestone corp area. Brock came in to speak 80/90 people on his race plans. I asked him a question about what gear he would use ,how many rev's,what speed etc.He started to take us round the track, but was called to the stage. After he finished his speech he came back to me in the crowd and ask where was I ? and contiued his lap,all while signing autographs. He invented the term LIVING LEGAND !

This is such awful news and I am very dissapointed. Its so sudden, and I cant believe he is really gone. Honestly, I feel a bit low being so quick to paying my resepects to someone who was alive only earlier today. Still , how can you make sense of the loss of a such a great person? I got the chance to meet Peter Brock in person not long ago, and I shook his hand. He is an inspiration to me, a hero, and the memory of him will live on always. I will always keep the poster he signed for me, and remeber his kind words. I'm a true holden fan and was resentful to learn that he was driving a Ford when he died, and thumbs down to the people out there trying to get rich off selling his memoribilia now that he has passed.

RIP Peter Brock. You will be remembered by motorsport fans everywhere. Skid-day in my paddock this weekend.

I find Jess's comments deeply disturbing. Someone loses their life and you feel "resentful" because of the make of car it happened in? You need to get a life!! That aside, it wasn't a Ford anyway, it was a Chev Daytona. RIP Brocky

I write this with a tear in my eye and a heavy heart. How can this be true. Peter Perfect gone forever. Ive followed him all my life and like many others he was an insperation to me and an idol i held in the heighest regard. I can still see him sipping on his cup of tea and wandering up and down pit row at Bathurst. And I can still remember him crossing another finish line to the chants of his legion of fans "Brokie Brockie" Memories that will live with me forever..He always had time to sign just one more autograph and he would never say no to a wide eyed child wanting a photo with their hero...The world has lost a Legand and Motorsport a son... Peter...05 will live forever in our hearts and now you have climed the heighest mountain may your engine always be a v8 and may you greet each day with another chequred flag... Rest in peace...

I had the honour of meeting Brocky and his girlfriend Julie last year. I couldn't get over the fact that the man I had watched race Holdens since I was a kid, was actually a really nice and down to earth guy who chatted to me like he had known me forever. RIP Peter, you fans will never forget you.

Brocky was like a part of our family and has pride of place on our walls with our family photos. He was a down to earth bloke who was always friendly and would you give his full attention to you when you met him. My family were very lucky to have an hour of Brocky's time at his hotel where he signed all our collectors plates personally and made comments like "Follow your dreams and Enjoy Life". Brocky even gave lollies to our kids and had a photo with them. Brocky was following his dreams and enjoying life when this accident happened and I know he will hold a special place in our hearts. "RIP Brocky" "Sweet Dreams"
