About time!!! Hope this is a turning point for many NZers... :-) (how much of her departure will benefits NZers, I won't know... just the thought of "She's gone!" is pretty exciting... hehe)

Last year I predicted she would be gone by my birthday (1st July). I guess I was 100% accurate - just a year early! :-)

She didn't have a future once Deane left, in some ways I feel sorry for the criticism she has suffered from when a lot of it was not her fault.

It's true. She's been let out to dry, and beat up like a scapegoat... poor her.. A colleague of mine was asking what will she be doing next or where is she going next... and I joked that she may be going to AAPT/PowerTel and stains a bit of dirt there too.. *hehe*

The situation is not entirely her fault but as the figurehead of Telecom it is part of the role to take responsibility. I hope that this means the end of bad treatment of Telecom's customers in general. I have been a customer since day one and have never had a satisfactory interaction with Telecom. Considering that I have spent about $50,000 (a rough guesstimate) with Telecom over the past 10 years I would expect to be treated better than I have in the past (I won't go into the sad details) by them. I can't wait to show them what I think by voting with my feet when the choice becomes available.

Mmm... how was Gattung not responsible? She was in charge of Telecom.

She may have been CEO but was she really in charge? Deane still very much controlled the direction of Telecom.

Does she really need to ho somewhere else? I mean to work.
Her salary was like winning the lottery every year.
Why she would go somewhere? It's time for retirement.

go, not ho...

holy...$$$$ The family had the same discussion at christmas, that she'd be going after the number portability.. Get ready for the most messy and exciting year in NZ Teleco's since Vodafone bought Bellsouth!

We hopefully will see a new direction for Telecom now..
