Nokia E72 finally has a release date
Expansys UK / Expansys Australia / Expansys NZ will very likely be getting my $$$ in just over a month as I have dealt with them before and they are brilliant.
Vodafone UK are also indicating an October launch, very quick for a network operator or is it just Vodafone NZ that is very slow to get handsets to market?
I have compared the E71 to the E72 previously here

They said it will be Q3 of 2009. October is Q4 2009. WTF

Expansys NZ has special for 5+. Are you looking to round few people up to get them in one order?
By the way, what's the threshold for customs' duty fee?

How do you know it's 12th October 2009? Vodafone UK stated 12th October but will New Zealand have the same launch date? Could be but could also be not.

... Nokia has a very bad waiting game... I go for iPhone.. i rather not wait for that day to come... tested it... then get disappointed when it turns out to be crap

After a long wait for almost 6 months reading about this phone and its reviews and snaps.. I finally got fed up waiting for this phone. E72 is not the only phone available in the market. I am deeply disappointed about Nokia delaying their launch dates. I also feel Nokia as a company has reached its saturation stage where they cannot offer anything beyond the usual specs. Nokia has also been unsuccessful on the touch side of life. Again when you are considering mobile security; I really doubt if nokia is really secure. Symbian as an OS is also getting old and we cannot continue to by newer handsets with the almost same features. It somehow does not make sence this way. I've quit on Nokia and am going to try with HTC Touch handset's with keyboard.

got an E72 today!!
In Australia, from a Telstra corporate reseller called Telestar.
I like it a lot, and am so sick of the clunky HTC HD that I had the last 6 months!!
PROS: Perfect size & weight, fast, nice 5Mpix camera, nice screen, best keyboard I have ever used, optical navigator is slick, lots of neat features, 1500MaH battery. Hopefully more robust than WinMobile devices!
CONS: 3G not NextG (3.5G), some of the settings are a little hard to find, but Exchange email all working nicely eventually.
We are pretty sure we will standardise on it as a Blackberry replacement for most intermediate level execs - much cheaper!!
Cheers,
James.
