So, on a newspaper, what's the difference between a blog and a column?

They even have a trackback URL... Nice! But, will the blogs vanish after a couple of weeks, like the news posts on Stuff?

i don't know the answer - but if i had to guess: blogs have comments, trackbacks, and are written for online --- columns are more olde skool.

I have a link forwarded to Juha, where bloggers in some newspapers are being paid less than columnists, and only if the post meets a certain number of page readers... Shame to be marked as second class on-line citizen by papers...

glass half empty? sounds like they're giving oppourtunities to folks who wouldn't have the existing readership to justify a column. which newspaper are we talking about?
