well.. i haven't been past geekzone for a while - but things have quieted down lately so i have time for a bit of reading. In gadgets, i seem to be thinking of a new cellphone to replace my Nokia 6255. it's gotta be:
  • CDMA, cos i need $10 txt
  • Bluetooth, so i can get my palm online
  • Bluetooth headset profile, with clever battery conservation, because i recieve 30+ calls a day while running around Wellington between offices and coffee shops.
  • good reception, cos i live in Vogeltown
  • clam shell, or some other way of protecting the keypad+screen
  • Fast Menu response, cos i'm impatient
So, what does that leave?

Nokia 6265 fits all those requirements except clamshell and fast menus. Its not too bad for response.

The only other option would be the Samsung A920

Or you could go for the Apache...

i'm also looking at the nokia e60 http://europe.nokia.com/A4142097 it's not clamshell... but the SIP over Wifi makes up for lack of $10 txt..

Samsung A920. awesome phone, everything you need. I also live in the sticks and it is the only phone other than my sanyo 7400 that works.

Bradstewart: i wonder what i'd gain in an upgrade from a 6255 to 6265 it seemed it me it was leaving my beloved clamshell shape, and move to the same device with a biggerscreen but much slower menus, and that internal aerial gotta have worse reception, right?
