Microsoft Tech.Ed New Zealand 2008 Day One Roundup
Tech Ed, posted: 1-SEP-2008 16:26
Really good day so far. Lots of friendly faces and, um, food, heh. All of the presentations I attended so far (WEB301, DEV215, ARC203, WEB302) have been very informative and interesting. As always there are the few guys on their laptops frantically trying to fix issues back at work.. poor guys...
Highs:
Lows:
Bring on Day 2 and TechFest I say. Still a bit scared about the glowsticks though.

Highs:
- Scott Hanselman's WEB301 and WEB302 sessions. Yes you should care what ASP.NET MVC is. Interesting, quality material with lots of good humour. And an awesome presentation style. You can pick up the slides from somewhere soon I am sure.
- Reading twitter in "quiet" parts of sessions.
- Friendly peeps in the marketplace
- HP hats instead of T-shirts.
Lows:
- Poor, poor instructions on the wireless connection settings. There is no space between teched and 08 just incase anyone still has not figured that out.
- Poor audience participation in some of the sessions. Either we as New Zealanders are all really shy, or quite noob.
Bring on Day 2 and TechFest I say. Still a bit scared about the glowsticks though.
