The Samsung 226BW 22" might not be the absolute best monitor in existence, but dollar for dollar, it blows the bollocks off the competition that I have seen - its bright, clear, nice colours, good contrast, and potentially most importantly - it looks really good on a modern desk.
Typical specs: 1680x1050 resolution, 3000:1 contrast, 16x10, DVI, VGA etc etc
Might just have to buy myself one, if I can convince myself that the Acer I havent seen yet is cheaper than the Samsung for a reason...

I'm one of the unlucky 20 customers in NZ who got the A" panels are inferior to "S" ones. As expected, lower quality PCB only work for 1 month, and have been in service with TISCO for 3 months and still haven't got it back.
