Geekzone Blogs dominates www.mobber.com

A couple of the bloggers here including myself use Mobbers on-the-fly site ranking tool - you can see it now off the the right hand side of your screen.

Since I have first heard of it, I have checked their home page about 3 times a day, and always find Geekzone in the top 4 list.

It doesnt specify seperate blogs, obviously treating http://www.geekzone.co.nz/tonyhughes as a subfolder of Geekzone, so it just lists http://www.geekzone.co.nz.

Its nice to see at any given time how many people are reading your blog concurrently. When I started writing this post, there were 14. Now there are 7. Earlier tonight (about 6.30pm or so) I saw over 70 at once.

Its easy to sign up to their service, and the whole process took me about 1 minute from loading their web site, to droppping their html code snippet into my sidebar.

Go Mobber...

I think its recording stats for all the geekzone blogs and lumping them together because from what i can see of the blogs that are using it and the Mobber home page which shows real time stats for the most popular sites....all the numbers at a given time are identical

Maybe it is. I think its quite a new service. It will either expand or curl up and die (I hope they do well), but there doesnt look to be much of a business model to it. Maybe its someones side project?

Wish they'd slim down the banner a bit, and make a vertical variety to go in the blog sidebar... nice idea though.

I happened to discover Mobber the second day it was operational. I had it on my splash page but I transferred it to another for some reason or another that I can't currently recall. I think they've been around for a month to 6 weeks or so If I'm guessin' right. I'll take another look now that I got this google update. Thanks. Tom

You saw the spike when I added the widget to the Geekzone frontpage. Since they only see a domain, the numbers from your blog, Geekzone and anyone else's Geekzone Blog are added up. I left the widget there for a couple of minutes only - If I leave it for a day then the number would go up very quickly...
