Be Careful What You Wish For Flea

C-Net reports that Flea (Michael Balzary) from the band Red Hot Chili Peppers (RHCP) is angry that a fan has obtained a copy of their new album, Stadium Arcadium, and posted it on the internet (presumably on a p2p network).

"For people to just steal a poor sound quality version of it for free because some a--hole stole it and put it on the internet is sad to me," he said.

But wait.... hang on...

I have heard a copy of 'Desecration Smile' live in concert, and at the start, over the mic, these fine words by Anthony Kiedis:

"This song is brand new, so be sure to bootleg it, and put it on the internet."

Okay, so its a live concert version, but still - if you tell your fans to pirate a song, you dont hold much credibility when they go on to pirate more and you complain.

One of the issues is apparently the quality of the recording - well, a bootlegged live version of a song wouldnt be any better!!
