Skype Cordless Dualphone

I just purchased a Skype Cordless Dualphone, from http://www.dualphones.co.nz, for a couple of reasons:

  • I have wanted one ever since I saw them.
  • Mauricio seems to really like his.
  • Our 2.4ghz Uniden interferes very badly with our 2.4ghz video/audio sender (for Sky in the bedroom), and my partner said to get it sorted :-).
The Dualphone is 1.9ghz DECT, so wont interefere with Bluetooth / Wifi etc.

It is a normal landline cordless telephone, the base unit of which also plugs into a Win2K/XP machine via USB, and acts as a handset for Skype, and you can see your contacts on the handset, and dial and answer Skype and SkypeOut / SkypeIn calls - all without wires. Very cool, but no Linux support that I know of.

The Dualphone website was very quick and easy to use, although not totally professional looking. They have promised delivery within 2 working days, so delivery on Wednesday at the latest should be my expectation I would think.

Will post a review after I have used it a bit :-)
