Technews, the way I like it...

Goodbye Telecom, Hello TelstraClear (soon)

, posted: 5-Sep-2006 16:32

I have heard of a good news that will help me moving my last leg towards TelstraClear to get one-stop service for Phone-Internet-Television-Mobile. Yesterday I was visited by a TelstraClear door-to-door sales person and was verbally confirmed by him that I can retain my Telecom number while using TelstraClear's 9xxxxxx number. I was a bit skeptical about this but later the night, I called up TelstraClear to get an official confirmation from them and true enough, you can now keep Telecom's number as long as you want.

Previously, TelstraClear offers you a year to switch from Telecom number over to TelstraClear's number, but a year for me is not enough, in fact I'd much rather not changing number as changing number is as hard as changing address or email address or whatever things needed the change! (I don't like changing anything other than switching Telco).

So what does this mean to me? Well come this Thursday, the salesperson will be back here to go through in detail, and also at the same time to switch over my mother's WTV TV subscription to TelstraClear Saturn Digital TV service with WTV add-on. This way my mother will get all basic Sky, TelstraClear Saturn Digital channels and her favourites WTV channels too, all for additional of $45 per month (much lower than my mother's $80 per month with no Sky Basic, talk about rip-off).

At the moment I have Internet (20GB/4Mbps/2Mbps), Saturn Digital TV (Sky Movies Pack) and Mobile Data plan (1gb) with TelstraClear, soon with Phone and WTV add-on and additional digital decoder, all of this will cost me roughly around $280 per month. I reckon that's a pretty good deal. And cut the last cord from Telecom.

Soon we'll be FREE FROM TELECOM! YAY!

(Watch this blog as I will keep you posted on what's the verdict on Thursday)
