Vista! Vista!

So finally Vista is left out of the bag to the consumer... a few months after the corporates get their Vista back in November 2006. There are a tonnes of reports, reviews and news covering Vista already, so I won't be addressing its launch here... Instead, I'm going to blog about how/what Vista is/seems to me. I had my share of experience with Vista since its beta 2, rc1 and rc2 iteration. It performs great and has great potential for all existing system. Regardless whether you get Aero or Aero Glass, or just plain classic look and feel, it is Vista's new kernel that I'm interested with. It seperate User mode from System mode for all applications and drivers, which mean it will be less prone to crash or suffer bad case of driver malfunction or trojan/virus attacks. ANYWAY, as most of you long-time blog visitors already knew that I have had my TabletKiosk eo i7210 since December. The primary attraction for me to get it there-and-then was the thought that Windows Vista will be available as Vista Express Upgrade. I had asked about this several times and was told "it may be, we'll let you know once we confirmed". Just earlier this week, I emailed TabletKiosk directly to query about few things, as well as about Windows Vista. The reply is as followed:
I’m sorry for any confusion regarding the Windows Vista Express Upgrade. TabletKiosk is not participating nor has ever committed to participate in this program. We will post Vista drivers as they become available after we have had an opportunity to fully test and validate their compatibility with our hardware. However, please be aware the hardware in question was designed prior to the launch of the final version of Vista, we have made every effort to assure compatibility with Vista but make any guarantees that the hardware will ever be fully Vista compliant.
I am hoping that the Vista drivers will be somewhat fully compatible at best, given that my eo i7210 UMPC wears a "Vista Capable" badge. So I guess, I'll fork out that $$ to get Windows Vista Business/Ultimate upgrade then... ON the positive note, Origami Experience for Windows Vista is OUT now!!! Links:

Never trust anything until you see written. If they say "May be, we will let you know", assume it will not be available (as you found out). Unless something is written and signed, there's no way to get what you want.
