Armageddon 2007 in Christchurch

, posted: 16-Apr-2007 11:27

Just over the weekend, I went to the first-time-ever in Christchurch Armageddon 2007 event. Those that in Auckland or in the circle might already know what this is. For those others, this is an event that should not be missed by any Sci-Fi/Comics/Manga fans. Check out http://www.pulpexpo.com/. It was a great day, and lots of great collectibles to snap up (if you got a big fat wallet or credit card)... for us, we only able to get 5 seasons of Star Trek Voyager DVD box set (1, 3, 4, 5, 7) as season 2 and 6 were not to be found... All for $200 (buy 4 and get 1 free)... That was a great deal, and saved us $450 from normal retail! Anyhow, I also saw Outpost 42 which is the NZ's garrison for "Vader's First" (aka 501st). I am looking into to join the Outpost 42 and in the process of obtaining further information on how to become one of the Stormtrooper (or as Republic Commando). Armageddon 2007 will be in Wellington this coming weekend, 21-22 April, so if you're a Sci-fi fan or manga or comics, you must check it out!!!

I was there, might have seen you actually - filling out an entry for the TF competition which I entered soon after. Those Star Trek box sets were crazy good value for money, and yeah it was annoying that they didn't have any complete series so I walked away with parts of DS9, Enterprise & the original series. I'm tempted to track down the guy running the stall so I can do more deals with him after the next paycheck arrives. Now that it's all over and done I wish I'd spent even more because now I have to complete my mish-mashed collection with retail boxes which I believe are selling for $79 or so. Perhaps this was their ploy all along...
