... Ipod Touch
Before anyone calling me an hypocrite... I like technology and gadgets that work towards my favour and my needs...
I have Creative PMC and when it first came out, it suits my need and I was very much in love with it. (I still do though). Seeing its potential to sync with Media Centre PC was a huge bonus in my book. However PMC development seem to have scaled back to near non-existence, though Toshiba been keeping it alive, just faintly. Much of PMC's gut been Zune-fied, but out here in this part of the corner... We don't get our Zune that soon... we'd be lucky to get in say... 2008?!
With the ever changing of technology and gadgets and different options of sharing media files... it gives consumers more option (and also the same time, more gadgets to get confused over with). There are converters to convert DVR-MS (from Media Centre) to h624 (MP4) or DIVX etc... WMA to MP3 or AAC etc...
Today, Apple launched Ipod Touch, which resemble Iphone in many ways, except without phone radio/module. When I first saw Iphone, I said to myself "I'm not getting it, unless it is just a multimedia device... I have no need for its phone part". Well almost like a prayer answered (but not hugely a surprised shock) that Ipod Touch came into its existence.
All I can say to Apple is, "Good move!".
Shame, I have a huge optimistic hope for Microsoft to bring Zune to us, but as usual... we missed out on awesome offer (which they repeatedly keeping their offering to USA only)... From today's lesson, looks like I'd give in to Apple and finally bite the Ipod bullet and be getting Ipod Touch.
What I may not look too forward to is... re-ripping my CDs into AAC format (from my WMA collection)... or unless Itunes can play non-DRM WMA without conversion, then I'm so-sold and ready...
