New HP WM vs Imate WM

, posted: 11-Sep-2007 09:26

Seeing that, HP recently relaunching-reannouncing their new iPaq line for business sector... their iPaq 600 series looks pretty good. While on the other corner, imate has finally revealed a couple of their "Ultimate" range. The two that I think may win my appeal for the next upgrade are both HP iPaq 610c and imate Ultimate 8150. In short comparison, imate wins an edge with its 2.6" VGA touchscreen (vs. HP's 2.8" QVGA). Both are similarily built in terms of physical dimension, weight, storage, processor and keypads. Though imate's Ultimate 8150 has nvidia GoForce 5500 graphics accelerator which may gives better video graphics. Oh and the ability to output to projector or XGA output with audio (with supplied cable). imate's seem to have include a good range of Bluetooth profiles, with video calling options (VGA front camera) and FM tuner. HP, on the other hand, has GPS built in, SmartTouch Wheel, 3MP camera (vs imate's 2MP). What's unclear with HP is, what USB version does it support (1.1 or 2.0), as imate's only a USB 1.1 from the spec.

Stevonz, if you are looking for just-PDA WM, HP's iPaq 200 series has VGA screen and offers VoIP communication. I think with WiFi access anywhere* you can easily use iPaq 200 + Skype (or fring) to establish VoIP calls. :-D

does anyone know if the ultimate 8150 available anywhere in NZ yet?
