Nintendo in NZ is in jeopardy - Softprint Interactive in receivership

, posted: 3-Jun-2008 16:24

As the blog title mentioned... All Nintendo activities in NZ will severely be affected due to the key and only distributor in NZ for Nintendo (as well as Activision) is under receivership with all stocks currently being held up in the process.

This is the key reason why NZ hasn't got Mario Kart for Wii officially through other channels and retails other than EB stores. This could also mean all future Nintento Wii and DS titles are in big shakeup until Nintendo can find a new distrib (read the entire post)...

Underperforming XBLA games to be delisted!

, posted: 28-May-2008 11:22

Seems like some of those retro or rare XBLA (Xbox Live Arcard) games will be delisted if they're not performing to what Microsoft felt the level of good performance be. [Google search]

I don't understand this approach and certainly don't like this decision. XBLA has games that one may not able to find anywhere else, and the high price tag certainly isn't making them more appealling to new/first time buyer.

It seems like, for these games, they're priced at 800 MS points (read the entire post)...

Be a Guitar Hero!!!

, posted: 22-Jan-2008 21:41

Over the weekend, my partner and I went to the mall for a short browse at some shops and we stopped by a EB Games. When we were there, there was a guy playing Guitar Hero III for Xbox 360. I have seen other playing it before but didn't think it was that fun at all...

So standing back a bit with my partner, we were observing and analyse how does the gadget work while this other guy was playing. When he done with it, I thought I'd give it a try (just as there wasn't many people around (read the entire post)...

Wii: Sonic and the Secret Rings (Quick-look)

, posted: 15-Mar-2007 11:00

Just got this game out on rental for the weekend and I have always been a Sonic's fan since its Sega days. From the cover, it looks very much like the Sonic from post-Sega days, which was famous on Nintendo Gamecube, Sony PS2 and Xbox. In the past, I really dislike the 3D Sonic world style and it took away the classic side-scrolling/platform game-style.

However, with Sonic and the Secret Rings, it unified the 3D world and the ease of play style into a total Wii-experience, and it fi (read the entire post)...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance for Wii

, posted: 13-Feb-2007 10:49

Right! So who wouldn't want to be Spiderman? Or Captain America? or in fact any super heroes from the Marvel universe?

A week ago, I rented Marvel Ultimate Alliance for Wii, seeing that Wii itself is quite a fascinating gaming console. As anyone would know, it is not as grunty as Xbox 360 or PS3, however it has a unique gaming style to it. Wii truly is in a league of its own!

Anyhow, back to the game. I thought it may have special "moves" that are unique to Wii only. Th (read the entire post)...

Nintendo GameCube games on Wii

, posted: 15-Jan-2007 08:50

Over the weekend, I rented the Pikmin2 and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicle for GameCube to play on our Wii.

This is the first time I ever played Pikmin2, although I have played Pikmin before on GameCube. The graphics look extremely well and much better than its previous version. The game is fun, and it's quite a puzzle like and kids-friendly and challenging. (I always like a cute puzzle game like this...)

And as for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicle, the game is quite a b (read the entire post)...

Wii wired networking

, posted: 9-Jan-2007 22:19

Are you connected on broadband? No Wireless option with your router? Don't really use Nintendo WiFi USB for Windows XP? Looking to get Nintendo USB Wired Network Adapter?

Well you can get the non-official option now from DSE. I saw this forum discussion at Gameplanet that there are a few people used and tried DSE's XH8273 (DSE Adaptor USB 2.0 > 10/100) to achieve their Wii Connect24 and Internet access from Wii. It is priced at $49.95 and you don't need to install any software/d (read the entire post)...

Wii does 480p with Component

, posted: 9-Jan-2007 21:45

So followed up with my recent blog regarding our Wii. I just have to say it again... We love Wii!

Wii gets more game time in its 2 weeks of life in this house, than our Xbox or PS2 gets in a year, put together. Why? That's because its game play is so unique and different and easy that anyone can do it without too much hassle, and the usage of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck are quite intuitive (although some special moves, you'll be given quick instruction on how to use or employ the te (read the entire post)...

Finally we Wii too

, posted: 28-Dec-2006 12:39

Let's Wii together! We finally joined the few thousands Wii players around the world by... unpacking our Wii which we bought on my birthday. Why taken this long to unpack it? Well... we've been busy for those weeks up until yesterday, with Ysabella, Christmas shopping and all... And since it didn't get opened on my birthday, I decided to wrap it up to put under the Christmas tree.

Opening it on Christmas day was without a bit of fun and giggles, since we've already knew what's been (read the entire post)...
